THE LOAD BEGINS WITH THE DECK

Fit the footprint before counting the stack

This is a simple axis-aligned planning grid. It makes the winning carton orientation, height limit, and partial final pallet visible without promising a production-safe load.

01

Pallet calculator method

The calculator tests the entered carton footprint in its original and 90-degree rotated orientations, keeps the larger whole-carton grid, and multiplies by whole vertical layers.

02

Use packed outside dimensions

Measure the finished carton and use the usable pallet deck, not nominal product dimensions.

03

A grid is not a load plan

The model does not interlock mixed orientations within one layer, overhang cartons, rotate them vertically, or optimize mixed SKUs.

04

Confirm load ratings and stability

The entered payload cap is a planning constraint, not proof of a safe load. Center of gravity, compression strength, crush risk, load securing, racking rules, and carrier limits remain outside the model.

Pallet calculator method

The calculator tests the entered carton footprint in its original and 90-degree rotated orientations, keeps the larger whole-carton grid, and multiplies by whole vertical layers.

It compares that geometric capacity with the entered payload limit, keeps the lower whole-carton capacity, and rounds the carton run upward to whole pallets.

Use packed outside dimensions

Measure the finished carton and use the usable pallet deck, not nominal product dimensions.

Keep every dimension in inches, include the empty pallet in the total height limit, and use packed carton weight.

A grid is not a load plan

The model does not interlock mixed orientations within one layer, overhang cartons, rotate them vertically, or optimize mixed SKUs.

Real fit can change with tolerances, stretch wrap, edge protection, pallet condition, and handling equipment.

Confirm load ratings and stability

The entered payload cap is a planning constraint, not proof of a safe load. Center of gravity, compression strength, crush risk, load securing, racking rules, and carrier limits remain outside the model.

Verify the final pattern and load with your pallet, carton, warehouse, and carrier specifications.

Questions, answered.

How do I calculate cartons per pallet?

Calculate whole cartons across pallet length and width, choose the better horizontal orientation, then multiply by whole layers inside the height limit.

Does the calculator allow carton rotation?

It can compare a 90-degree rotation on the pallet deck. It does not rotate cartons vertically or mix orientations inside a layer.

Does this confirm a pallet load is safe?

No. Weight, stability, compression, securing, pallet condition, and operating rules require separate review.
