ONE CLEAR OPERATING QUESTION

Sample the pixel, not the background

A chosen image pixel keeps its own channels and alpha even when the preview is scaled or shown over a checkerboard.

PIXEL (1, 1) IN A 2 × 2 EXAMPLE#E6F36B

RGB 230, 243, 107; alpha 255 (100.00%). Measurement uses the decoded pixel, not the checkerboard.

01

Sample the decoded pixel

The selected source pixel supplies the sRGB RGB channels, HEX and alpha. Coordinates begin at zero in the top-left of the oriented image.

02

Read the lime example

In the synthetic 2 × 2 example, pixel (1, 1) has RGB 230, 243, 107 and alpha 255. Its RGB HEX is #E6F36B and opacity is 100.00%.

03

Choose the next image task

If your starting values are CMYK percentages rather than an image pixel, use the CMYK to RGB converter for an approximate screen-color conversion. After checking the product-image colors, use the Shopify image resizer to prepare its dimensions for your storefront.

04

Keep transparency and color management visible

This reports decoded sRGB canvas values, not original encoded channels, Pantone or print matching. Hidden RGB can be lost at zero alpha. No image or filename is uploaded; static raster and memory limits apply.

Questions, answered.

Does this upload my image?

No. Supported still images are decoded and sampled locally in your browser; image bytes and filenames are excluded from analytics.

Does HEX include transparency?

The six-digit HEX omits transparency. The separate eight-digit HEX and alpha value include the decoded pixel's opacity.

Will this match a printed product color?

No. The tool reports decoded sRGB screen-color values and cannot certify source-file, monitor, Pantone or printed color matching.
